Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The label released her first EP titled Pho in October 2016, and she was able to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The singer continued uploading her music online in 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. Sweat It is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21, 2015. The following year, her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some possible references for Rihanna. In December 2008, it was revealed that Rihanna had been signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on September 5. In November, she dropped two singles, 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then on November 13 two new singles titled No One and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, and then she released the song as a single by herself to her first album. In February of 2019, a music clip was released to promote the song. It already has nearly three million views on YouTube in its debut week. In December 2018, she was part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
